8 Days Uganda Wildlife and Rwanda Gorillas
Day One: Kampala – Kibale
Take Breakfast and drive westwards via Mubande to Fort Portal. From Fort Portal we will then carry on to our first destination, Kibale National Park for a stay within the Tropical Rain forest. This forest is home to the largest number of Man’s closest clones the Chimpanzees. Dinner and overnight at Primate Lodge Kibale/ Ndali Lodge/ Rwenzori View Guest House/Sky Tree House.
Day Two: Chimpanzee tracking Safari in Kibale Forest
The tracking will start with a visit to the Uganda wildlife headquarters for briefing after which you start searching for these human look alike. During the walk you may stop to listen to the calls of the chimps to avoid bypassing them. The walk will be guided providing information about chimps, other primates, fauna and flora making it informative and interesting. After the walk you will have lunch and then go for a nature walk to Bigodi wetland sanctuary, it has a lot of rare species to offer, both fauna and flora. Dinner and overnight at Ndali Lodge / Mountains of the Moon / Primates lodge.
Day Three: Queen Elizabeth Nature Walk & Game Drive
Have relaxed breakfast before you leisurely drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park, you will reach the park in mid morning and go for a nature walk. Have lunch at your lodge before you head to the Kazinga channel for the boat cruise that may give you the opportunity to see Hippos, Crocodiles, water birds and land mammal at the waters edge. Dinner and Overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge/Jacana Safari Lodge/Simba Safari Lodge.
Day Four: Game drive and Chimp Tracking safari
Wake up very early for your game drive in search for Hyenas, Leopards, Jackals, Wild dogs, Lions, Buffaloes, Elephants, Warthogs, Kobs, Bush buck, Water Bucks, and many other big and small land mammals. You will have lunch at your lodge before you embark on your journey to Kyambura Gorge for your afternoon Chimp tracking expedition. Retire to your lodge for dinner and breakfast.
Day Five: Return Journey
Have you last sight seeing at your lodge before you drive back to Kampala with a lunch break in Mbarara and a quick stop at the equator. Dinner and over night at your hotel in Entebbe.
Day Six: Fly to Rwanda
Catch a flight to Rwanda one of the mountain gorilla habitats. You will be picked from the Airport by our company guide, transfer to Kigali for lunch before you finally drive to the Gorilla park. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.
Day Seven: Gorilla trekking Safari and hiking
Start the Gorilla tracking in the morning and once you find them spend an hour with the gentle giants. Have lunch at your lodge and choose between a village/community walk and the visit to Lake Burela and Ruhondo. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.
Day Nine: Kigali City tour/ Rwanda Genocide tour
After breakfast leave for Kigali where you will do a city tour/Genocide tour before your safari ends.
